HELLO! I'M MADELINE
I am a wife and mother from Minnesota. I studied Art History and Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. It was there that I discovered two great joys of my life - art and the Catholic faith.
As a convert to the Catholic faith, I am always in awe of the many ways that the Lord chooses to love us and show us His immense care for each one of us.
As an amateur art historian, I desire to continually notice the beauty around me that is created by human hands but inspired by the sacred. I love deep-diving into art pieces and drawing them into daily life.
As a wife and mother, I am daily convinced of the privilege it is to be a woman and the great call that the Lord has put in our hearts.
Ad Porta Caeli is first of all an inspiration from the Lord that He has placed on my heart. I desire for this to be a place where all can learn their innate gift of receptivity towards the true, good, and beautiful that is in sacred art.
Many do not know or believe that they have the ability to understand sacred art. The Lord has called me to tell you that you can and He has already placed the gifts in your heart! These gifts are the ability to receive what is in front of us and understand it in a personal way. I desire that this blog helps you to receive, learn, and understand sacred art in a new and uniquely Catholic way.
I pray that the beauty you experience in art and your everyday life may move you towards heaven's gates.
